How to Make Raw Vegan Desserts

If you want to make a no-bake or raw vegan dessert, there are a few things you should know. First of all, they are not made with the traditional combo of flour, sugar and baking powder!

Also, there’s some kitchen equipment that you need to have! At the very least a food processor, good blender, muffin tray or cake form.

No-Bake & Raw Dessert Ingredients

Here’s what these plant-based treats are usually made with — ranging from raw-ish ingredients to great no-bake vegan dessert add-ins.

  • Frozen fruit
  • Fresh fruit
  • Nuts & seeds
  • Nut or seed butter
  • Dried fruit
  • Coconut milk & oil
  • Cocoa & carob powder
  • Dark chocolate
  • Maple or agave syrup
  • Oats, buckwheat groats
  • Cinnamon, vanilla, salt
  • Shredded coconut
  • Avocado
  • Dairy-free yogurt

New to raw vegan desserts? Try this simple 5-ingredient avocado chocolate mousse that’s super creamy, decadent and undetectably nutritious. Nobody will be able to tell there’s avocado in this raw vegan dessert!
Serves 4

Ingredients

Raw avocado mousse

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • 3 tbsp almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional toppings

  • Chopped dark chocolate
  • Coconut whipped cream
  • Fresh berries

Instructions

  • Halve and pit the avocados, then scoop the flesh into your food processor jar. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until very smooth and creamy.
  • Stop and scrape down the sides if needed and add more almond milk if the mixture doesn’t come together.
  • Taste some of the chocolate mousse and add more of any of the ingredients if wanted to adjust for your preferences.
  • Divide between serving glasses and enjoy immediately or chill in the fridge before serving with toppings of your choice.

Notes

  • You can make this chocolate mousse richer by adding ¼ cup of melted dark chocolate into the food processor.
  • This recipe tastes great (although a bit different) when you swap almond milk for coconut milk!
  • Nutrition information has automatically been calculated without any optional toppings.

  1. do you mind recommending what brand do you use for coconut cream/ coconut butter and coconut sugar? A link/URL will be helpful.

    • I’m based in Germany so I assume naming brands won’t be very helpful! I haven’t found much a difference between brands to be honest.
