Ingredients
Vegan burger patties
1tbspolive oil
1onionfinely chopped
1.5cupsfinely chopped mushrooms
1.5cupsblack beans
1cupcooked rice
½tspsmoked paprika
1tspItalian seasoning
Saltto taste
½cupchopped walnuts
Instructions
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add onions and mushrooms. Cook for 5-8 minutes or until soft.
Add beans, rice, spices, and nuts. Stir until well combined.
Transfer to a food processor and pulse a few times to combine. Don’t overdo it, or it will turn mushy!
Adjust to taste preferences, then form 6 patties with your hands.
If the texture is it’s too crumbly, add some water. If it’s too wet, add more of the dry ingredients you used.
Line up the patties on a baking sheet. Put them in a preheated oven at 350 °F (180 °C) for 15 minutes, flip over, and bake for another 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can fry the patties in oil using a skillet — this will only take 3-5 minutes for each side.
Serve warm on your favorite bun alongside your favorite vegan burger fixings!
Notes
Feel free to add lots of delicious spices like soy sauce, paprika, pepper, and anything else you like.
