Ingredients

Vegan Nutella

  • 4 Medjool dates pitted and soaked
  • 2 cups roasted and skinned hazelnuts
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Place the pitted dates in warm water for about 2 hours, then drain them.
  • Add the hazelnuts to a food processor and process until they turn into hazelnut butter. This will take around 2-3 minutes, so don’t give up! Stop and scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed.
  • Add the drained dates, cocoa powder, and salt. Process again until you create a homogenous mixture. Adjust to taste preferences by adding some syrup for more sweetness or more cocoa powder.
  • Use immediately as a spread or transfer into a lidded jar and store for up to a month.

Notes

  • It’s important to use roasted and skinned hazelnuts for the best result!
  • If you don’t have a good food processor, you might need to stop and wait a few minutes while making hazelnut butter.
