Tofu Satay
1block14 oz extra-firm tofu
2tablespoonssoy sauce
1tablespoonmaple syrup
1tablespoonlime juice
1teaspooncurry powder
½teaspoonground turmeric
½teaspoongarlic powder
¼teaspoonground ginger
Bamboo skewerssoaked in water for at least 30 minutes
Peanut saucefor serving
Instructions
Press the tofu using a press or a heavy object wrapped with a clean kitchen towel. Cut tofu into cubes.
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, lime juice, curry powder, turmeric, garlic powder, and ginger to create the marinade.
Add the tofu pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Once this time has elapsed, thread the marinated tofu pieces onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Grill or pan-fry the tofu skewers, turning them occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and slightly crispy. This takes about 8-10 minutes.
Serve on a platter with peanut sauce or your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy.
Notes
Meal prep this dish by leaving the marinated tofu for up to a few hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.
